The tenth anniversary of Noisily Festival, taking place 6-9 July 2023, will welcome 6,500 festival-goers from across the globe to its spectacular new site in Barkestone Woods, just outside Grantham, Lincolnshire.
Noisily is a family forged in a holistic environment which feeds the mind, body and soul. Each year attendees gather in the woods to dance, create, learn and connect. Guided by the environment and grounded in nature, Noisily celebrates the individual and cultivates understanding in the collective.
Noisily is part of a global family of transformational festivals which take place all over the world each year. The woodland festival was born out of and developed through the UK underground scene and the Glade Festival movement which was established at Glastonbury in 2000. Various members of Noisily’s core team and crew first cut their teeth at Glade in both production and marketing capacities.
The truly unique experience will unveil two brand new stages and an enormous programme featuring the widest selection of music, art and performance that the festival has ever hosted, as Noisily gears up to hold its largest event to date this summer.

Noisily is famed for its huge electronic line-up, which includes a variety of techno, psy-trance, tribal house, dub and drum’n’bass, with the addition of live music, marking an essential date in the calendar for electronic music devotees.
The electrifying bill of artists confirmed to perform at this year’s event includes London based DJ and fashion week’s favourite party starter Henri Bergmann, DnB and Jungle legend Goldie, the incredible Mouse Outfit, Berlin based electronic duo Calessi & Sarah Kreis, techno heavyweights’ Oliver Koletzki and Gregor Treshor, and leading light of the Dutch underground scene Joris Voorn.
The festival will also host an all-female line-up across its brand new techno stage, The Hollow, featuring a wealth of artists who are creating some serious noise in the dance world such as Sandrien, Anabel Arroyo, Nur Jaber and IMOGEN.
Mind, Body, Soul #
Noisily offers an extensive wellness programme throughout the festival, inviting attendees to fully immerse themselves in unique holistic experiences and attend thought provoking workshops.
Trailblazing meditation programme Lumenate will host an exclusive experience as part of the festival’s huge wellness offering.
Lumenate aims to inspire and encourage individuals to live more fulfilling lives through accessible consciousness altering experiences. The transcendental programme offers a series of meditation sessions via an app; using stroboscopic light sequences from your phone’s flashlight, the sessions neurologically guide users into an altered state of consciousness.
Devoting two years into researching the effects of stroboscopic light on brain function, founders Jay Conlon and Tom Galea launched the Lumenate app in March ‘21 and instantly received praise from the likes of Forbes, British Vogue, The Times, and Vice Magazine. Lumenate also recently appointed Rosemund Pike as Creative Director following her involvement in early beta testing and experiencing the huge potential impact of the app.
For the very first time, Jay and Tom will offer the Lumenate experience to a live audience at Noisily, inviting festival-goers to expand their consciousness and unleash their creativity.
Experimental sound artist Natural Symphony will host an after-dark party in the woods by creating music from the electrical signals of plants, presenting a unique forest rave to take festival-goers into the night.
Natural Symphony connects music and nature using his handmade instruments to detect the natural bio-rhythms in plants. The sound and light artist also has various techniques of controlling lighting with plants, using lasers, 3D projection mapping and artificial intelligence to generate live visuals.
Offering the perfect remedy to a late-night forest rave, Natural Symphony will bring his one-of-a-kind meditative experience to Noisily, offering immersive, spatial sound performances controlled by plants, taking attendees on a relaxing sound journey.
Natural Symphony will also host an immersive, interactive forest installation at the festival, inviting attendees to walk amongst the singing, illuminated forest, offering a moment to connect with nature.
A wealth of activities and events will take place across the weekend including workshops, talks, and panels, encouraging attendees to discover, explore, play, move, meditate and create.
Arts #
Noisily’s arts programme is a wonderfully varied and psychedelic affair, creating beautiful and interactive pieces which grow and evolve each year. The striking, wonderous stage installations and magical sculptures hidden in the woods are truly a feast for the eyes.
The arts programme is curated by Ruth Herbert, who has led and designed projects for the likes of Burning Man, Ibiza Rocks Hotel and Beat Hotel. Growing up in an artistic and inspiring household, Ruth inherited the creative jean from her grandfather Peter Firmin, founder of Smallfilms and creator of childhood favourites Clangers and Bagpuss.
Ruth will co-design various installations at this year’s festival, such as the vibrant supersize zen dens, a communal space for festival-goers to relax and unwind, and Noisily’s magnificent entrance archway welcoming attendees to the festival, transporting guests into another world.
Further highlights within this year’s art programme includes the 10th anniversary celebratory sculpture; inspired by the official symbol for this year’s event, the impossible penrose X, the sculpture will be designed and created by artist Paul Muncaster and proudly displayed at the festival.
Noisily will also welcome WOM collective, an all-female street art collective, to design the festival’s main art wall.
