Cookie Notice
This notice explains how Festivals & Gigs uses cookies and similar technologies, and the choices you have.
It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains more broadly how we handle your personal information.
Our approach in short
We keep tracking to a minimum. We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting, cross-site tracking, or third-party marketing tags. Our analytics provider does not use cookies at all.
Because the only cookies we set are strictly necessary for the site to work, and our analytics is cookieless, we do not show a cookie consent banner. Under UK law (PECR, as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025), strictly necessary cookies are exempt from the consent requirement, and cookieless analytics falls outside it entirely.

Analytics (cookieless)
We use Fathom Analytics to understand how the site is used so we can improve it. Fathom is privacy-focused: it collects aggregated, anonymised data, does not set cookies, and does not collect personal information that identifies you. Data is processed on our behalf only and is not shared with advertisers or used to track you across other websites.
Embedded content
Some articles may include content from other services (for example, a video or audio player). When such content is present, that third party may set its own cookies once the content loads, governed by their own cookie and privacy policies. Where we include content that sets non-essential cookies, we will ask for your consent first or use a privacy-preserving embed.
Your choices
Most browsers let you see what cookies are set and block or delete them through their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site (such as form submissions) from working properly.
If we ever introduce cookies that are used for statistical or functional purposes beyond what is strictly necessary, UK law gives you the right to object to them free of charge, and we will provide an easy way to do so.
