La Route du Rock 2026: A recording breaking 34th edition
La Route du Rock, for its 34th edition, was driven by an intensely ambitious program
exceptional, ranging from incandescent post-rock to hypnotic electro, via pop
orchestral and noise rock. More than 35 groups performed over four days, offering
a demanding panorama of the international independent scene. Between the Fort of Saint - Père, The New Wave and the beaches of Saint - Malo: the public responded massively.
with more than 30,000 festival-goers welcomed — the best attendance in the last twelve years.
The festival was particularly sold out on Saturday, driven by the only summer date
French from Fontaines DC and a poster that’s as bold as ever.
A CULTURAL AND MUSICAL IMMERSION ON THE SCALE OF THE MALOUIN TERRITORY
As usual, the festival resonated far beyond the Fort of Saint-Père with
Popular cultural and musical offerings: an electrifying opening night at La
New Wave with Just Mustard , Gurriers and Elias Rønnenfelt ; free concerts on
Bon-Secours beach attracted a large crowd every day around Helen Island and Bibi Club
and Lael Neale under a radiant sun.
The exhibition ” Jean-Louis Murat: Photorama “, by photographer Frank Loriou , presented at theTour Bidouane made a lasting impression by paying a vibrant tribute to the late artist and by attracting thousands of visitors. The festival was particularly keen on this tribute, given the relationship maintained with Jean-Louis Murat over the years was unique and strong.
In addition to the history of musical training, the festival offered a fascinating lecture.

ARTISTIC EXCLUSIVE AND EXPLOSIVE NEW GENERATIONS
While the previous edition celebrated the return of Pulp , 2026 will be remembered for the confrontation of two giants: Fontaines DC , whose historic Saturday night concert set a Fort ablaze de Saint-Père complet, confirming their status as a major group of their generation, and Mogwai, Scottish post-rock monoliths, who delivered a performance that was both raw and emotional, leaving a lasting mark on all those who were swept away by the explosions.

Kurt Vile & The Violators brought their luminous nonchalance, while The Divine Comedy delivered their romantic pop with rare elegance. Meanwhile, Peaches delivered a jubilant and totally unrestrained electroclash concert-performance, which will certainly be remembered.

La Route du Rock – Summer 2026 Collection was a true sonic epic, confirming its
ability to combine boldness, high standards and eclecticism.

The 2026 edition confirmed its status as an exceptional festival, with a delicate balance between legends vibrant and dazzling discoveries. True to its “indie” spirit, the festival, now committed in a shared adventure with the Combat group, continues to forge its unique path
in the musical landscape, driven by values of independence and artistic excellence.
