Since 2003 it's grown into one of the premier destinations for heavy music, with multiple stages, a full weekend of camping, and headliners that have included Metallica, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, and Slipknot.
Spanning classic rock, thrash, metalcore, punk, and everything in between, Download pairs a fiercely devoted crowd and killer lineup with funfair rides, food villages, and the famously muddy Donington fields. For British metal fans, it's an annual pilgrimage.
