Best Festival Eats of 2026

As the 2026 festival season comes to a close, we share our favourite festival food from the summer.

Mercadona Tortilla

Why was it so good?

The food at Primavera is generally tiny portions of overpriced fare that won’t fill you up. However, the festival lets you bring in your own food from outside, and there is nothing by trustier than a takeaway slice of tortilla (aka Spanish omelette) from supermarket chain Mercadona.

Kolkati (Authentic Indian Kebab Rolls)

Why was it so good?

The inaugural Neston Park version of WOMAD wasn’t short of Indian food vendors. Festival favourites Dosa Deli were there alongside the excellently named Asian Grub Foundation, Taste of Spice, Madras Cafe and Goan Fish Curries — but our favourite food of the fest was Kolkati’s authentic Kolkata kebab. Entirely handmade from scratch, they serve rich, buttery egg-fried parathas filled with spiced masala, lime, sweet tamarind and your choice of paneer or chicken. These come served with deliciously spiced masala fries and a mango aioli which we went back for three times. On top of that, the staff were an absolute vibe. Outside of festival season you can try them out at Seven Dials and Camden markets in London.

Why was it so good?

Eating local is usually a foolproof method — it doesn’t get more local than this. Raised on the salt marshes of the nearby Gower and fully traceable, the lamb cooked here was delicious. The post-run waft of meat on a hot grill, pint in hand, is a dangerous combination. When you see punters bringing the staff members an armful of smoothies, you know they’re a good bunch.

Good Dog by Popdogs (Veggie Hot Dogs)

Why was it so good?

Crispy Glamorgan sausage in a soft bun with caramelised onions, mature cheddar and Branston pickle. Perfect with a pint of stout from the Sibín Beag Irish bar next door.

Ice Green (Vegan Gelato)

Why was it so good?

They have 20 rotating flavours, so I can go back and get something different each day! Apple crumble, blackcurrant cheesecake, carrot cake, tiramisu, roasted almond & sour cherry, olive oil & rosemary, mint choc brownie. As an ice cream lover it’s off the scale as a treat. They’re a lovely bunch, I first met them at Glastonbury but they popped up at Shambala & We Out Here too.

Why was it so good?

Comfort food at its finest. Perfect for breakfast, lunch or a late night food induced hug before bed. They’re full to the brim, using ingredients all sourced in Suffolk where the team originate from. Shout out to The Kimcheesy, our favourite item on the menu.

Why was it so good?

Two words: beef randang. Sweet, spicy, jammy, melt in the mouth, indulgent, there are few better curries in a festival field. Get yourself a mixed box and you’ve served yourself one of the most substantial and flavour packed meals you can find. Packed with flavour and nutritional goodness in equal measure, this is a hearty meal which will set your day and night up right.

Cost

£12–16
