BST Hyde Park - Pearl Jam, Pixies and so much more
Alright, buckle up folks, because John here and I've got a wild ride of a review for you. I had the pleasure of attending Pearl Jam's performance at the BST Hyde Park Festival in London on July 8, 2022, and let me tell you, it was a show for the ages.
The legendary grunge rockers took to the stage with a fiery energy that could only come from years of experience and a true love for their craft. Eddie Vedder's unmistakable vocals soared through the air as the band ripped through hit after hit, including "Alive," "Even Flow," and "Black." But it wasn't just the classics that had the crowd on their feet - Pearl Jam's new material, like "Superblood Wolfmoon" and "Dance of the Clairvoyants," held up just as well and showcased the band's continued evolution and innovation.
Of course, I have to give a shoutout to the Pixies, who absolutely killed it as the main support act. Their unique blend of punk and pop had the crowd bouncing and singing along to "Where Is My Mind?" and "Debaser," and their newer material like "Catfish Kate" proved that they've still got plenty of gas left in the tank.
But let's talk about the location, because the BST Hyde Park Festival truly is a unique experience. Set right in the heart of London, with the iconic Hyde Park as its backdrop, the festival boasts an impressive array of food stalls, bars, and chill-out areas. From gourmet burgers to vegan falafel wraps, there was something for every taste bud, and the craft beer selection was on point. I particularly enjoyed hanging out in the gin garden, sipping on a refreshing cocktail while soaking up the sun and the vibes.
All in all, Pearl Jam at the BST Hyde Park Festival was an unforgettable experience, and one that I would highly recommend to any music lover. Whether you're a die-hard fan or a casual listener, there's something special about seeing a band of this caliber perform in such a unique and vibrant setting. And with the Pixies bringing their A-game as well, it was truly a night to remember.
